      First enlisted July 17th. 1862, as Private in Co. E, 11th. Regiment W.VA. Vol. Inft’y for the period of 3 years, and was discharged therefrom as Corporal, at Richmond, Va. on the 17th. day of June 1865, by reason G.O. War Department.

A. C. Virden, a veteran of the civil war, and an excellent citizen, died at his home at Waverly on Thursday of last week. The remains were brought up to Raven Rock on last Saturday for burial.
